You only live once!

Hi!!
So glad that you're reading this! This is not my biography :), this is just me living life and sharing my experiences with you. As you know, there's no guide book as to 'how to live a life' or how to not. We try now and then to turn our experiences into laws, principles, rule books and even moral standards, but really, there's isn't just one way to live life, and I'm cool with that. The people I interact with, the challenges, the losses and wins, this is my life!

Here's a little snippet from my life that I found very interesting at this time in history where women across the globe are starting to realize and claim their place in society. Last week, I was apart of a team of four women driving off to the village for a work-related task in the evening. A little context here, this is something that I've done for a couple of years now, in the same country, just a different location. We usually do this in the evenings and come back at midnight most of the time.  We went on with our business, setting up equipment which includes climbing up the truck to unload from the roof rack and setting up everything, then at the end load up the truck again. This is a very routine task for the women I work with. Women Do (cont): How can I can succeed when they set me up to fail?

This is a story that almost every woman in my country can relate to, yet many a time we don't realize when we face injustices because we've been led to believe that this is our path as women. Have you ever been in a situation where you thought you were the anomaly because everyone around you thinks that women should always act weak, less than, unaccomplished, apologetic, etc.? Our society makes an assumption that if women have equal rights, stand tall, have an upper hand, or just merely be respected for who they really are, then institutions will collapse! This is a fallacy stemming out of a generation filled with insecurity, immaturity, trauma, post-traumatic tendencies, to name a few; which has, in turn, blindfolded us into becoming parasites attacking our own beings. I've heard women implying that a female rape or domestic violence victim put themselves in the way of danger in how they were dressed, or how they talked to the offender. Talk about gender traitors!
